This cover is good: nice pose and color (not sure about the red-rimmed eyes, from a strictly traditional viewpoint) and it gets the atmosphere right. Alex Horley is proving himself a real asset to continued Chaos! Sworn, bloody! Xetal |

WOW X
thanks for the link... the cover looks REALLY good.. but the red highlighted eyes i'll agree are kind of funky.... dale keown drawing ernie al rio on ANY book greg capullo on ANY book (but ernie or dead king would rawk our sox off) then i'd like to see something totally different like skottie young or paco medina (VERY cartoon'y) on a book... just don't know which one... I posted a review of Purgatori # 1 at (SPOILER ALERT)forums.jazmaonline.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1849
It does look like a great comic book so far. I'd recommend it highly. Richard Vasseur |

Purgatori #1 | ||

Just finished it. First impressions (which I distrust
The internal art's second-rate, the cover third-rate (that awful thick waist; the excruciatingly uncomfortable-looking throne-arms; to say nothing of the throne-back that seems to either cut her wings off or make them grow out the back of her neck.) I thought the story was going to be one of those drab morality-tales, but it turned out to be decent in the end. Enough for me to put up with the art and buy the first arc to see how it develops. With luck it'll bring some new fans in: I'll be pointing them at Chaos! to show them what the new stories have to live up to. As stories, I'm encouraged to hope they may do so, but unless the art improves (and Horley's cover to #2 is a big improvement) it's not going to be a major seller. It falls far, far below Chaos!'s best - but it's not beyond redemption by any means. Sworn, bloody! Xetal |

I'd say, it's a start.I'm ok with the art and story line,wait a minute, what storyline? It was so over shadowed with lezbo stuff, I think I missed it.Purgatori was so much more than that, what happened, is that all she is now?I'm sorry ,I thought she was some what more than that.Too much of the story was that and what else is there?

I suppose they wanted to start with a bang.....by the looks of the comments on the DD boards, the real story gets under way with #2. I'll still but the first arc.

London's cold snap? | ||
|
A cold snap (which means temperatures below freezing) is not unusual in November. This one had plenty of wind-chill, but temperatures stayed just above freezing in London. It's no guide to how the rest of the winter will go, but do remember that we haven't had a 'proper' winter here since 1963 (which probably matched the routine ones I experienced in New Jersey in the late 1980s.) A 'really cold winter' by London standards would not be considered much of a winter at all in most of America.
Of course, we're unprepared for the slightest snowy weather, which always causes transport chaos that would make the average American die laughing. I don't think your son needs to worry about doing brass monkey impersonations while he's over here.... Sworn, bloody! Xetal |
